PRAYER QUILT MINISTRY
'Prayers & Squares' is about the Gift of Prayer through the gift of a quilt. When a request for a quilt is received, one is placed on the altar rail, and the congregation is invited to come forward, tie a knot and offer a Prayer for the recipient. Small quilted 'Prayer Squares' are also available for those who may be in need of added support. Quilt request forms are located in the narthex and can be dropped off in the P&S mail slot just outside the church office. We meet the third Thursday of each month at 10:00am in the fellowship hall. All who enjoy sewing are welcome to join us. Donations of cotton materials are welcomed and can be placed in the 'Quilt-Tub' above the coat racks. Colleen M. Beeman: Chair. 989-422-2840

"I was born in 1963 with cerebral palsy. That may be all you see - but , greater than this , I was born with dreams to dream and desire to discover my world . With encouragement from family and friends , I have worked hard to see my dreams come true--but, I still dream and have more to accomplish. I would like to share a poem by Nathaniel Hawthorne. It challenges us to be all that you have been created to be . ' Happiness is as a butterfly , which when pursued , is always just beyond our grasp , but which , if you sit down quietly, may alight upon you ' "
- Sara Murdoch
Sara's Bears began with Sara Murdoch witnessing two small children after a car accident. She though they needed to have teddy bears because they were afraid. Sara decided to collect bears to give to the local ambulances. To celebrate her 45th birthday, Sara asked for teddy bears instead of gifts for herself. The bears began arriving and were placed at the front of the church. The bears were blessed, and she felt that was why the bear ministry was so successful. Sara's Bears is Sara's legacy. The minisrty continues to grow. The bears are at the local ambulances, walk-in clinics, and emergency rooms, where they are given to children as they come in.
Sara was born in 1963 with cerebral palsy, but she was also born"with dreams to dream and a desire to discover her world". Sara's Bears continues to bless so many people.
